Rediscover Your Vitality

When we experience traumatic events or stressful situations (such as living in the modern, capitalistic world we live in) we can become stuck in our bodies natural stress response cycle (fight, flight, freeze, and fawn.) Indwell Sessions weave decades experience of movement theory, trauma research, Somatic Experiencing®, and somatic and social theory to potentially enable you to find your way through these states to a place of rest and safety.

When we are able to feel present we may feel more alive, more vibrant, more awake to life.

If you’ve felt stuck in feelings of anxiety, anger, depression, or dissociation, Indwell Sessions may be a helpful tool for you to engage your body and story.

I’d be honored to facilitate that journey with you!

Healing is a journey

I am here to help you “move from fixity to flow” (Peter Levine). This fluidity helps you find more freedom to move in your body, heart, mind, and relationships.

Note: As with any form of engaging the body-mind- I am unable to “guarantee” that you’ll find a state of rest or peace from our work together. I like to say (a phrase I learned from my therapist) “Nothing is a problem until it is the only solution.” While I personally deeply believe in Indwelling and practicing embodiment in this way- I don’t assume that this modality works for all bodies.

  • While I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington, Indwell Sessions are not therapy. Doing Indwell Sessions with me does not put is in a therapeutic relationship.

Because Indwell Sessions are not mental health counseling- it is not billable to insurance and is self-paid.

I encourage you to have a local mental health counselor you can go to in need of psychological services.

  • Indwell Sessions are 50-minutes. There is no specific timeline for how long the entire process will take. I often like to encourage folks to at least do 6 sessions. This helps your mind get used to a more “body-based” practice. Since most of the time we are taught that we are floating heads- engaging our stories and traumas somatically can take a bit of time to adjust to.

  • All of my sessions are currently done online through Zoom. You get to call in from the comfort of your own space.

I weave in Somatic Experiencing® with over 20 years of movement education and practice as well as breathwork, social and somatic theory, and trauma research. I listen to the sensations, feelings, thoughts, energies, and movements that your body is making and I offer gentle encouragement for you to become more aware of the messages your body is saying by being aware of movements, sounds, and facial expressions your body may need to make.

I often encourage the use of music and will likely ask you if there are specific songs or artists that resonate for you.

Movements can include shaking, standing up, pushing, squeezing, making noises and facial expressions. I recognize this can take some time to adjust to, and we will take it at a pace that is kind for you! These sessions are recommended for folks who feel done with talk-therapy and want to try something new for their body, or better yet- folks who are still in talk-therapy and want to experience a body-based modality in conjunction with their therapeutic work.

I do recommend that you make use of your local mental health services, and for us to work together you’ll need a mental health provider you can go to if mental health concerns arise. I am happy to help you find referrals for mental health therapists if you need.
